Self-compassion not Self-criticism
To survive in this high pressure and crazy world, most of us have to become highly adept at self-criticism. We learn how to tell ourselves off for our failures and for not working hard or smart enough. This is a problematic state. We usher into the shape of underperformance and depression. The moment we recall our failures, we feel down and fall precipitately downward in the deep pith. We lose the will to get out of bed. We need self-compassion for those moments. We are suspicious because that sounds close to self-pity. As we know that depression is an enemy of life, we need to appreciate the role of self-care. We should perform a self-compassion exercise. The first step goes with realizing that all the moments we get caught by the bare hands of failure were meant for us.
We fail to notice the scale of the challenges we routinely set ourselves. Step two, we have a tricky family history. We all have some family backgrounds which are not in favour of our particular success. We should realize that we were not set for that task. It was not wholly our fault. Step two liberates you from the onus burden of self-blame or the guilt you have been carrying out for long. In the third step, the exercise makes you think that you have been too obsessed with success stories on social media. We have assumed that everyone is getting their part of success before time. You don’t know how much it took them to go through that particular so-called success stage. The people who are in the game of self-criticism don’t share the burden of failure on luck. They think that everything that happened to them was their fault. They take silent responsibility for everything. They think winners make their luck. They forget that luck is the genuine feature of existence. In the theory of existentialism, the philosophers say that we exist, but we don’t know the meaning of our life. We have to find the essence of our existence and perform according to our real nature, while the group says that the heart is equivalent to fate already existed before our birth. When we are born, we take that real essence of ourselves and act according to the face of what has already been written. We feel that we have taken ourselves into complete control. That’s why when we crash; we hold ourselves responsible. In step five, it seems that it will never end, but that’s not true. The quotation appears to picture the situation that ‘’ this shall pass too adequately’’. Change is permanent. We, as a human, are unable to stick to one routine or position. The environment keeps changing itself, and so do your inner self, moods, attitudes and aptitudes.
For the time being, you need to reduce expectations from yourself to the scale zero and try to set new foundations and standards that must not surpass your courage, time, and aptitude. Do not push yourself to the limits. Instead, try to live a new life and generate the will to live your life.
